The conference that brings together multicultural psychologists across the U.S. heads to the Royal Sonesta in Houston, TX on January 16-18, 2013. Although online registration is closed you can still make plans now to attend the premier conference that focuses on multiculturalism, diversity, and social justice because you can register on-site. The exciting program includes: Keynote speakers, Dr. Joycelyn Elders - the 15th United States Surgeon General, Phyllis Randolph Frye – first out transgender judge in the United States; the honoring of 9 Distinguished Elders who have made significant and noteworthy contributions to the field of multicultural psychology; networking and speed mentoring sessions; and 2 full days of workshops, symposia, roundtables and posters. We hope that you will join us there!

Community Engagement
The Community Engagement Committee of the NMCS is partnering with Montrose Center (MC) of Houston, Texas. The mission of MC is to empower their community (primarily gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals and their families) to enjoy healthier and more fulfilling lives by providing culturally affirming and affordable behavioral health and prevention services. We are sponsoring three community service projects: 1) Paint a room: Saturday, January 19th 9:00-12:00pm
2)Toiletry Drive and 3) Board Games Drive, receptacles will be conveniently located through the conference for your generous donation.
